Once the nurse could no longer be seen, Fu Chen turned to look at Bai Xi Xi again. His gaze shifted to her ankle as he looked at them with worry. “Are you sure you are alright?”

He still remembered the painful look on Bai Xi Xi’s face when her friends were trying to lift her up. Therefore, Fu Chen was doubting the nurse’s words when she said that Bai Xi Xi’s injury was not that serious.

Fu Chen was still not convinced. He felt that Bai Xi Xi could still lie because she did not want to make him feel bad.

The nurse was giving Bai Xi Xi a few reminders on how she should be looking after her injury when a student walked into the infirmary with bated breath.

“Nurse, someone fainted in the track field,” the student shouted the moment he raised his head. “The teacher wanted you to go and take a look.”

The nurse stood up hurriedly with a worried look on her face. Then, she looked at Bai Xi Xi’s ankle before tossing the ice bag to Fu Chen. “Classmate, help me to press the ice to your friend’s ankle. Do it for another five minutes. I’ll have to go and check the situation first.”

Fu Chen stared at the ice bag in his hand and nodded.

Without saying anything more, the nurse grabbed her small bag before leaving with the male student to look at the fainted student.

Once he could no longer see the nurse, Fu Chen pulled a chair and sit down. Then, he picked up Bai Xi Xi’s legs and started to press the ice bag against her ankle.

Bai Xi Xi flinched when Fu Chen touched her leg. But, Fu Chen was thinking that Bai Xi Xi was flinching because of the pain.

“Does it hurt?” Fu Chen looked at Bai Xi Xi anxiously.

“No. The ice is too cold.”

It was then that Fu Chen breathe in relief.

Bai Xi Xi stretched her hand at Fu Chen. “Just give me the ice pack. Let me do it myself. You can leave first. I’ll be fine here.”

Fu Chen frowned. “No. The nurse assigned me to this task. I am not going to leave halfway. Besides, I can’t leave when the nurse is away. What if another student came to look for treatment? At least, when I’m around, I can do something to help.”

Bai Xi Xi hesitated, but Fu Chen was not going to let her reject his help. He continued to hold Bai Xi Xi’s foot with one hand and pressed the ice on her ankle with another.

The nurse gave him the task to give Bai Xi Xi a cold compress on the ankle for five minutes and Fu Chen was going to do this task seriously.

While Fu Chen was concentrating on his task, Bai Xi Xi’s gaze shifted to the hand that was holding her foot.

The image of Fu Chen holding her foot made her embarrass. This act was a little too intimate, wasn’t it?
