Chapter 218: Not Move onđłđeđđŹđđđođ«eđč. đđšđą
Christian walked back to his office to get an idea of his pending work. Just because there is a chance of attack doesnât mean he will get to bail on his responsibilities. Ever since his Dad stepped down from the duty, itâs all up to him. He was starting to see why his Dad was cranky. The amount of work required was insane.
He was an hour into the system when he heard a few knocks on the door. He raised his head to spot a familiar figure looking at him, âHi, I see you are not avoiding me anymoreâ Christian snickered.
âI wasnât avoiding youâ Sebastian cleared his throat.

Christian tilted his head in a âCome onâ way. âYeah, okay, I was a little. But that was after you forgot that you drank and...â Sebastian hesitated.
âConfessed to you?â Christian helped him out.
âYeah,â Sebastian nodded.
CHristian nodded along with him before folding his hands and asking, âDoes it really bother you that much? That I had feelings for youâ?
.....
âYou donât anymore?â Sebastian asked him instead.
âNot as strongly, no. But I am trying my best to get over itâ Christian mumbled. âBut letâs not change the subjectâ He sighed. âDoes it bother youâ?
âIt bothers me that I donât return them,â Sebastian admitted honestly. âOne-sided crushes are tough... and I hate that you-re... stuck with meâ
âI donât,â Christian snorted. âI mean you can be a d**k once in a while but other than that you are a great guyâ.
âThanks for the complimentâ Sebastian offered him a sarcastic smile.
âYouâre welcomeâ Christian played along and gave him a devious smirk in return.
Sebastian shook his head before saying, âI thought you ran away from me. That was until I saw Ashton.â
âOkay, I might be a little wary and careful at times, but I am not a coward. Why would I run away from my own packâ? Christian scowled.
âI dunno...â Sebastian trailed off. âYou have ways of being unexpected. You confessed to me out of the blue.â he shrugged and raised his hand. âRemember this scar? You gave it to me... when I was just trying to help youâ.
âOkay, first of all, that scar was not entirely my fault. My rutty wolf was the one who went berserk. And secondly, I thought I made it up to you by licking your face.â Christian looked back at him from his computer with a classic smirk to witness the wide eyes of Sebastian.
âYou really say anything donât you. What happened to the âplan your every moveâ kind of guyâ? Sebastian asked.
âWell, I have recently learned that being yourself has its own advantages. So I am not gonna suppress everythingâ Christian admitted.
âGoodâ Sebastian smiled. âYou shouldnâtâ
Before their conversation could proceed further there was another knock at the door, which turned out to be none other than Mr. Wrisberg. âI heard you are back sonâ He mumbled. âI called your mother as well, she will be here soonâ he informed his son.

âI should probably leave,â Sebastian prompted but Mr. Wrisberg raised his hand to stop him.
âYou can stay, this wonât take longâ. Mr. Wrisberg cleared his throat before asking, âI heard there was a potential attack?â He sighed. âWhat was that about? What went down at the Ice Fountain pack?â
Christian hesitated for a moment before telling him everything. He didnât forget to mention the memory lapse of Ashton, especially when he knew how disappointed Mr. Wrisberg was of Ashton. By the time he was done both Mr. Wrisberg and Sebastian were conflicted.
âSo this Riley, he is related to the Cornwells. Are you sure he didnât have ulterior motives?â Mr. Wrisberg asked.
âNot that I could find. He was actually helpfulâ. Christian smiled.
âGood. Why donât you contact him and get the status update?â Mr. Wrisberg.
âHe didnât want his pack leader to find out that I left, which is why we didnât exchange contactâ Christian mumbled, he pursed his lips before saying, âBut, Mel might be able to help with thatâ.
âShe has a friend there,â Mr Wrisberg murmured.
âIâll tell her to check the available intelsâ Murmured Christian and linked her.
[Did you hear back from your friend at the Ice Fountain at all] he asked.
[As a matter of fact I did. She was really upset that I showed you the picture. She is apparently under trouble now.] Melanie took a pause before she mumbled, [I think she might be facing some significant consequences]
[Then I suppose there is no way she would tell you what the Alpha Plans are?] Christian asked the question he very well knew the answer to.
[I donât think she can. She doesnât even know what is going on. I checked with her the first thing after you arrived.] Melanie informed him. [Although I doubt she would let us know even if she had any idea.] Melanie sighed. Letting go of the link, Christian informed his father of the same.
âI seeâ Mr. Wrisberg sighed. âI guess we have no choice but to wait it out then.â Christian nodded at his father as well. âOh another thing, I was hoping to hold the official ceremony for handing over the pack to you. Itâs high time I stepped downâ.
âBut... I donât have a mate yetâ Christian mumbled. âIs it even possible to be the pack Alpha without a Lunaâ?
âThere are a lot of things that make you stronger, not just having a mate. You risked your life for your little brother, and I know you will do your best for this pack. You donât need a mate to make you care. You are well versed with taking care of others.â Mr. Wrisberg announced. âOnce this conundrum is over, letâs make it official.â
âYou really believe I am ready?â Christian asked. He would be lying if he said hearing those words didnât make him feel elated at all. In fact the nod given by Mr. Wrisberg made him smile as well.
âYou have been ready a long time agoâ Mr. Wrisberg affirmed. âIâll see you later then. Your mum is hereâ Mr. Wrisberg smiled before he disappeared.
âI know I have been in this pack for like a decade, but I swear I have never seen him smileâ Sebastian mumbled, with a hint of surprise in his voice. After a moment he finaly felt relieved that Mr. Wrisberg was gone.
âI have... when I was youngâ He mumbled. âHaving these responsibilities made him like thatâ. Christian sighed. âAnd I can imagine why, the responsibility is insane. I literally have to look over everything.â Christian sighed. âI think I need to go now, I need these signaturesâ.
âYeah, you do that. Just donât become grumpy like your Dadâ. Sebastian teased.
âI am not promising anything,â Christian shrugged and vanished leaving Sebastian alone in the office.
âAnd, can you not move on yetâ? He mumbled while looking out at the empty hallway. He knew it was hopeless wishing it, if anything he needed to do something about it. What he didnât know was that Christian forgot something and was on his way back when he heard Sebastian say those words.
