"Eh? What happened?" Sylvia chuckled and petted the wolf. She picked up the small animal in her hands and hugged it close to her chest.
"You don’t want me to leave?"
The little pup’s face immediately lit up and it shook its head vigorously. Sylvia’s heart ached but where she was going was very dangerous.
Her life itself was riddled with one disaster after another. She didn’t want to subject a helpless pup to her miseries.
"It’s for your own good. Stay here, okay." She reluctantly placed the pup down and started walking away.

The wolf whined at her as if it knew what Sylvia was trying to say. But when she tried to walk away from it, it ran behind her, following her, and then bit into her clothes.
She tried to leave again but it repeatedly did the same, not letting her go. The little guy was even panting, completely out of breath from chasing behind her relentlessly.
Sylvia was touched by how sweet and innocent the small beast looked.
Besides, she was too worried about it to leave the beast all alone without its pack or anyone else around.
After a while, she softened and gave in to its request.
"Okay, you win. I’ve decided. I am taking you with me." The pup yelped in happiness and licked her face.
"Ha Ha..." Sylvia rubbed its head and smiled dotingly at the black wolf. She hadn’t experienced such unconditional love in her life.
She suddenly felt heat building up in her eyes and tears fell down.
She placed the wolf on the ground and touched its head gently. She concentrated and pulled the mana in the air around her.
When it came to taming beasts, she only needed to insert some of her own mana into the wolf in order to form a pact between them and then let the animal swallow a drop of her blood.
Sylvia followed the technique and pricked her finger to let a drop of blood roll into the pup’s mouth.
The small black pup immediately let out a loud howl.
"Are you in pain?" Sylvia started panicking, but the wolf shook its head. Something else was happening. She squatted down next to it and carefully observed the beast.
Right in front of her eyes, the small pup suddenly started growing bigger and bigger. Its small figure started elongating and becoming more lean and muscular.
Even its dull eyes glowed with beautiful silver light.
"Is anything hurting?" Sylvia asked again, worriedly. She had never tamed any beast before and had only read about it.
Some changes were normal but this... what was happening?

"Wow, I didn’t expect you to evolve..."
Her fingers traced the thin silver veins on the pitch black wings. The wolf was now almost as big as her, bigger in fact.
She walked around the beast in circles, curiously observing and taking in all that had changed.

She saw that the wolf was also looking at her anxiously as if it was wondering whether she would like its new form or not.
"Good job! You look so cool." Sylvia smiled, encouraging it.
The black wolf let out a triumphant howl and immediately nudged her hand with its head. It flapped its wings and wagged its tail at her.
Sylvia got the message and smiled a little. "You know, I can also fly?"
The wolf shook its head. It was adamant.
"Alright." Sylvia muttered and chuckled.
The wolf stretched its body and leaned forward, making it convenient for her and then the next second, Sylvia hopped on its back.
"Are you happy now?" She giggled, hugging the wolf.
The wolf let out a happy howl and then it flapped its wings, its body along with Sylvia atop it rose into the air.
It first slowly flew around, making sure that it was able to balance everything and when things proceeded smoothly, it shot up and circled like an arrow.
The wolf’s agility and strength were no doubt tremendously superior to a common dire wolf’s capabilities.
Sylvia chuckled and let the beast fully let itself lose. She was even a little envious of it as unlike her it instinctively knew how to fly.
"Ah, good boy. Let’s go to our next destination, shall we?"
Meanwhile... in other parts of the beast kingdom...
Two wolves were running at full speed. Their figures blurred and appeared in various places in different parts of the forest surrounding the draconian settlement.
However, they seemed to have failed.
The two wolves stopped at the border of the Kingdom.
One of the wolves then shifted into a tall and lean muscular young man. Isaac shook his head, drizzling the water drops from his wet hair everywhere.
He had inadvertently fallen into a freezing river during the search.
"What now, Roman?"
Ignoring him, the other wolf also shifted. His eyes stared ahead at the vast horizon that was sprawled in front of him.
"Where the hell did you go?"
The two stood in silence for a while when Roman suddenly thought of something.

"She had the map that Melissa... " He turned around and muttered in haste. "She showed it to me."
"Eh? What are you talking about?" Isaac scratched his head.
Roman didn’t say anything for a while, once again becoming silent. He was engrossed in deep thought and a couple of minutes later, he finally moved.
His lips curled into a big grin and he chuckled, running his hand through his silver hair. "I know where she is."
"What? How?" Isaac was more confused than ever, but before he could ask further the man had once again shifted into his beast form and zoomed away into the distance.
"Fuck. I am coming alright. Wait for me!" He could only shout and quickly shift as well, chasing behind his Lord.
