109 THE FRONT OR THE BACK?

The two of them continued walking with Wu Jinhai continuing to hold the torch, and they finally arrived in front of the cave. “Why did you throw away your torch?” Bai Chen asked from behind Wu Jinhai.

Without turning to Bai Chen, Wu Jinhai replied, “If someone were in the cave, the fire would be easily seen by them, so we shouldn’t take any risk. You don’t have to worry because I can lead the way into the cave using my instincts.”

Bai Chen was actually worried to the point that he tightened his grip on Wu Jinhai’s robes, but when he thought about it again, perhaps he should remain calm because he knew that Wu Jinhai was a strong person.

Wu Jinhai could even freeze the giant spider with ease, and perhaps the man would be able to fight the beasts in the forest with such an ability. That was why Bai Chen remained silent as Wu Jinhai started walking toward the cave entrance.

But then his ears heard some voices coming from inside the cave. He thought the voices belonged to some beasts, but when he furrowed his brows as he tried to identify the voices further, he could tell that they belonged to some people.

He used his sharp ears to listen to the voices, and he noticed that there were two voices, and they seemed to belong to a man and a woman.

The voices sounded like their owners were panting, but Bai Chen felt that something was wrong with the voices.
