687 That Person is Gone

Fu Chen sucked in a deep breath when he felt Bai Xi Xi’s soft and warm finger against his lips.

His eyes shifted to the finger on his lips, causing his heartbeat to accelerate.

Fu Chen raised his eyes to look at Bai Xi Xi again, but the girl was too busy to keep her eyes on the road to look at the person who was following them.

Her clear skin and long lashes were visible to him. He had always sat beside her from the day he transferred to Y City High School. But this was the first time that they had been this close.

His heart was chaotic. His neck and face felt especially hot.

An irritated look appeared on his face. Jian Chi pulled out his phone from his pocket before pressing it against his ear. He was listening to the other party for a while. After a brief conversation, Jian Chi ended the phone call before he turned around to leave.

Still, the two of them did not get out of their hiding place, worried that Jian Chi might be waiting for them somewhere.

Fu Chen shifted his eyes at the finger on his lips again. He suddenly had this urge of wanting to lick his lips. Fu Chen suppressed the urge and looked at Bai Xi Xi again, wanting to speak.

At the same time, Bai Xi Xi turned to look at him.

Their gazes met and time seemed to have stopped for them.

Bai Xi Xi took her time to compose her thoughts before turning to Fu Chen again. “Sorry.” She cleared her throat before peeking at Fu Chen’s expression again.

“It’s alright.” Fu Chen quickly forced himself to act casually. He looked at the empty road and spoke, “I guess that person is gone.”

“Uh-huh.” Bai Xi Xi nodded. “We...” She pointed to the street. “We should go now.”

Without waiting for Fu Chen to respond, Bai Xi Xi turned around to leave.

The atmosphere around them was quiet as the two of them took their time to compose themselves.

Then, it was Fu Chen who broke the silence between them. He looked at Bai Xi Xi and spoke, “That... why was Jian Chi following us? What did he want?”

Bai Xi Xi glanced at Fu Chen, knowing that Jian Chi did not like this boy. She could not help but wonder if Jian Chi was following Fu Chen around, hoping that he could mess up with Fu Chen.

But then, Bai Xi Xi recalled her encounter with Jian Chi earlier at the school’s staircase. She suddenly wondered if Jian Chi was following her because of that incident.

Jian Chi was complaining that she was too close to Fu Chen. However, Bai Xi Xi did not have the time to get along with Jian Chi.

Fu Chen watched Bai Xi Xi silently. He had a feeling that Bai Xi Xi knew something but did not want to tell him anything.

He thought that Jian Chi might be following Bai Xi Xi around, wanting to make trouble for her. Fu Chen suddenly thought that it was good that he decided to walk Bai Xi Xi home.
