709 Prove That He’s a Good Player

Meanwhile, Fu Chen was trying his best to convince the others to let him join the basketball team. However, it seemed that things were not moving so smoothly for him.

He felt that Fu Chen’s skill was not much different than theirs and that losing him would not affect them in any way.

The disappointment on Fu Chen’s face was very obvious. He wanted to continue and coax them into letting him join the team. However, he felt that he still have his dignity. Fu Chen was not going to beg them to let him join the team.

“Yang Xu!” Lin Xiao Tong rushed over to the basketball court.:

Lin Xiao Tong and Bai Xi Xi were walking over when they overheard Yang Xu’s rejection. The man was not even willing to give Fu Chen a chance and straight up rejected Fu Chen.

Fu Chen was Bai Xi Xi’s tablemate and Lin Xiao Tong had a good impression on him. She could not sit back and watch as Yang Xu and the others were bullying Fu Chen.

“Why are you guys here?” Yang Xu narrowed his eyes at Lin Xiao Tong and Bai Xi Xi both.

“Don’t you think that you are being unreasonable?” Lin Xiao Tong spoke as she reached to Yang Xu and the other’s side. “You would not even give Fu Chen a chance. How can you say that he’s not good enough?”

The look on Yang Xu’s face turned darker, realizing that Lin Xiao Tong had overheard their conversation.

“This is regarding our school’s basketball team,” Yang Xu spoke. “Lin Xiao Tong, you stay out of it!”

“You are not willing to accept a potentially good player. Yang Xu, how can you be this unreasonable?” Lin Xiao Tong fought back.

“How would you know if he’s a good player?” Yang Xu gave Fu Chen a lookover. The look on his face was enough to tell that he was looking down on Fu Chen.

“How would you know if he’s not a good player when you don’t even want to give him a chance,” Lin Xiao Tong spoke.

“Lin Xiao Tong, shut up!” another player called Xia Feng scolded her. “What is the matter with you?”

Lin Xiao Tong met the boy’s gaze. She craned her neck, pretending as if she was not afraid of this boy. “I just could not sit still when I see an injustice. What’s wrong with it?”

Yang Xu massaged the spot between his brows. Watching Lin Xiao Tong fighting with Xia Feng was giving him a headache.

“Anyway, there’s no harm in giving Fu Chen a chance to prove himself, right?” Lin Xiao Tong continued. “It wasn’t as if your team is good enough without Jian Chi around. Don’t think that I did not know this. A few days ago, didn’t your team lose to Y City West?”

The look on everyone’s face turned ugly. “How did you know this?”

Y City West was among the worst basketball team in the city. Losing to them a few days ago was too embarrassing for everyone. Yang Xu and the others were already planning to pretend as if this match did not happen.

“How is he going to prove it?” Yang Xu asked. “None of us here are willing to team up with him.”

“Then, how about another match?” Bai Xi Xi glanced at Fu Chen and continued, “Fu Chen should find five members on his own. Then, his team will have a match against yours. What do you think?”
